Based in Birmingham (U.K) Goosensei is a key figure in the underground electronic music scene in the city as a DJ, producer and co-founder of the Listening Sessions event and community. Having a strong passion for Dub and deep electronic music, he has found his home in both Birmingham’s Reggae/Dub scene and at forward thinking electronic events, regularly playing at the best music venues in the city and across the country.
With the release of his 7 track Summon Ep in 2014 on San Francisco based label Dubs Alive Records, Goosensei transported “the listener to a temple of deeply dubwise Bass Music”. The EP hit the top 5 of the JunoDownload deep Dubstep chart and received global airplay from DJs along with great support from the online Fat Kid On Fire network.
In 2015 he continued his exploration of Deep Dubwise with 4 more releases, including a remix of leading Birmingham Reggae/Dub act, Friendly Fire Band’s “Legalize It”, where Goosensei joined a roster of leading international artists on the “Social Sounds of Planet Dub” compilation. He also returned to Dubs Alive, collaborating with Krytikal for “Reach Out” where ghostly elements of traditional Dub met waves of driving bass and cutting percussion which gained support from RSD and Bun Zer0.
In 2016, Goosensei was part of the chart-topping “Chameleon Audio Vol 1.” compilation with a collaborative track, “The Resistance”, where he flexed a darker side to his sound. To finish the year he remixed Earth Is Flat’s single, “Bom Bolenath”, released on Bit Phalanx records featuring Birmingham based artists, Ilias Lintzos and Laura O from The Electric Swing Circus.
In 2017 the “Sekkle & Cease Vol. 1” compilation held top position on the Dub charts across a number of major online stores such as Juno and Beatport.
This year there is no slowing down for Goosensei as he continues to establish himself as a unique and diverse producer.
As a DJ, Goosensei keeps true to the traditions of sound-system and early Dubstep culture with sets full dubplates. From both his DJ selection and production style it is clear that this fusion of Dub and electronic bass music is driven by his love of strong deep frequencies, high energy drum rhythms and positive vibrations.
